Future Music Festival may have sadly been cancelled but that doesn’t mean there’s no other great music festivals happening in the region later this year. Whether you’re into Jazz, World Music, Hip Hop or good old-fashioned Rock ‘n’ Roll, there’s something going on this year for you. Here’s just 10 great music festivals happening later this year in Asia to get excited about:

Wanderland Festival

Held at the spacious, uber-cool Globe Circuit Event Grounds, the Wanderland Festival is the epitome of a carnival atmosphere. Headlining the Philippine’s largest Indie festival this year is rapper Kid Cudi, followed by rockers Augustana and DJ RAC. Also, look out for radical acts like The Jungle Giants, Youngblood Hawke, and Lewis Watson!

Electric Zoo Beach Tokyo

For the first time ever, New York City’s premier electronic festival will be making its Asian debut on the shores of the futuristic Makuhari Beach. Artistes such as Steve Aoki and Knife Party have been scheduled to spin, although no concrete announcement of the full line-up has been announced as of yet. Not to fret though. Judging from the previous editions of Electric Zoo, you’ll undoubtedly be in good hands.

Fuji Rock Festival

The Fuji Rock Festival has a reputation for being one of the most beautiful festivals in the world – and for good reason. Spread out over the Naeba Ski Resort in Niigata, people can expect to explore captivating forests and streams, all the while listening to the best Rock music that the planet has to offer. This year, the Foo Fighters will be leading the gargantuan line-up along with Muse, The Bohicas, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Cero, The Districts and FKA Twigs.

Pentaport Rock Festival

Held annually at the chilly Incheon City, the Pentaport Rock Festival is considered one of Korea’s largest music festivals. And with this year being the 10th anniversary of the mega fest, fans can expect something special. If you still need more convincing, the brilliant array of international and regional acts are reason enough to travel to the Land Of The Morning Calm.

Rainforest World Music Festival

Summer Sonic 2015

Ultra Music Festival Tokyo

After the roaring success of the inaugural 2014 edition, fans can look forward to having another blast this year. Be warned though, the festival is immensely popular and you’ve gotta book your tickets quick! Early bird and pre-sale tickets have been completely wiped out even though the line-up isn’t even out yet – go figure.

Clockenflap, Hong Kong

Hong Kong’s marquee music festival has come a long way since its 2008 inception. Bands such as The Vaccines, Chvrches, Tenacious D and Travis graced the stage of 2014’s edition, and fans can expect more of the same this year. With an ever growing support base and recognition, Clockenflap has all the ingredients to be one of the region’s premier music festivals.

Urbanscapes, Malaysia

Having moved to the cool environs of Genting Highlands from KL last year, Urbanscapes is the perfect playground for all Indie music lovers. Numerous games, art installations and horse rides add to the wacky carnival atmosphere, while a host of Indie music acts makes it a treat for you audiophiles. We also love that this festival is also a massive platform for the Malaysian artists to get their sounds out.

Sunburn Festival

As one of the greatest party capitals, Goa is the perfect place to stage one of the world’s best dance music festivals. Undeniably world class, the music of this festival has never been in doubt, with acts such as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Knife Party, and Sander van Doorn headlining through the years. What makes this festival extra special however are the numerous activities unheard of at any other music fests, like zip lining and bungee jumping!
