As we slip into the last month of the year, Bali is embracing the holiday spirit brought on by Christmas and the upcoming 2019. If you’re visiting the Island of the Gods this month, look out for a smorgasbord of guest DJ shifts and musically inclined events. For those who prefer something less rambunctious, there’s an typographic art exhibition, poetry slam, and a four-hands dinner at Italian farm-to-table restaurant Zibiru.
Samifati
Alliance Française Bali presents French dynamic duo Samifati at creative hub Rumah Sanur for a night of electronic music festivities. The pair has spent many years experimenting with traditional music from around the world, and are set to perform their stellar combinations of violin play, projected visuals, and digital sound effects in Bali, following their Jakarta tour.

The Grand Slam 2018; Unspoken Anger
Kickstart your year end with a poetic twist. Bali-based community project UNSPOKEN, which has been providing a safe platform and space to discuss topics like mental health, lust, and freedom, will be hosting the final round of their 2018 poetry slam. Besides hearing from the six finalists, attendees can also look forward to secret poet guests that are yet to be announced.

Heidi & Emanuel Satie at Woobar
The headliners of W Bali’s Late Night Session this time are Heidi (Jackathon/UK) and Emanuel Satie (Moon Harbour/Crosstown Rebels/GER). The two will join forces and take turns in getting the dancefloor of Woobar going on a night of house and techno tunes. Heidi has spent over 15 years touring and establishing worldwide party brand Jackathon in that time, while the Frankfurt-born house and techno producer Emanuel has been known for dancefloor hits and standout deep-house remixes.

Book your table now for this one-night only dinner experience, Burn, Baby Burn. Brought to you by farm-to-table Italian restaurant Zibiru, this four-hands, one-night only dinner features award-winning Singapore-based chef Christopher Millar (Stellar at 1-Altitude). Sippy Sunday feat. Angelo Ferreri
Another year end pool party to look forward to, this edition of Sippy Sunday will host Italian producer and DJ Angelo Ferreri. Having experimented on sounds and beats at the age of 12 and continuing his groundbreaking productions throughout the years via labels MONOSIDE and Mood Funk Records, Angelo has been a consistent source of the best house music with releases in the line of David Penn, Re-Tide and Mark Funk. The lineup will also include Discrow (AUS), BTK (Bali) and TAYA (AUS).

Franz Ferdinand And The Local Heroes
Potato Head Beach Club Bali has December looking super lit! Soulaxis x Lefto
The second edition of Soulaxis presents Belgian DJ Lefto, who’s best known for his eclectic DJ sets and a digging sensibility influenced by working at Music Mania record store in his hometown Brussels. Gemma O’Brien at The Slow
Join Australia-based designer and illustrative lettering artist Gemma O’Brien on the opening night of her exhibition opening night, a showcase of expressive hand-painted typographic artworks dressing the walls of The Slow’s gallery space. Gemma O’Brien’s established design works include commissions by global brands such as Apple, Nike, Google, and The New York Times. This is certainly one artist to watch.

YokoO at Omnia
For some groovy house music, hit up OMNIA this weekend for a session with the French born German DJ YokoO. YokoO spends a lot of time pondering basslines and warm synth riffs and has been steaming up dancefloors around the globe with his seductive house tracks. He’s also released music regularly with highly regarded labels such as All Day I Dream, Musik Gewinnt Freunde, and Kindisch.
