Solitude: An Ink Painting Exhibition by Gui Zhao Hai

Organised by Asia Art Collective, Solitude presents a selection of twenty fine works of the contemporary Chinese ink master Gui Zhao Hai’s signature series of the Sichuan-Tibetan mountain-scapes.

Gui Zhao Hai’s unique oeuvre emerges from his personal philosophy and affinity with the Sichuan highlands, where he repeatedly travels into. Using his paintings to illustrate his ideals of purity, kindness, beauty and respect for nature, Gui has masterfully captured the sublime presence of nature, composed with the towering monumental mountainscapes, and combined with stark contrasts between light and darkness – evoking man’s contemplation and respect for nature.

Solitude is running from 5 to 18 March 2016 at Visual Arts Centre from 11am to 8pm daily. Admission is free.
