The Weekly Grub: 5 Things to Eat & Drink this Week

Besides drinking cocktails from The Savoy in London, there’s beer and wine to drink for good causes, and a new lunch menu to try at Marina Bay Sands in this edition of The Weekly Grub.

New Lunch Menus at Caffe B

With an al fresco bar and a restaurant split over two floors, Caffe B is a social dining concept that melds the sensibilities of Japanese and Italian cuisine. They’ve launched a pair of new menus this month in each of the restaurant and bar spaces. Customise your own three-course lunch set from two appetisers and three mains for $25 while the bar’s prix fixe menu goes for $20.

Craft Beers and Gin for Charity

To aid humanitarian relief efforts in Nepal after last year’s devastating earthquake, production company AWsome Media has organised a photography exhibition that’ll detail the awe-inspiring beauty of the ravaged country. At the event, hosted by craft beer joint Kiosk, visitors can get their hands on brews and G&T’s for $10 a pop. All proceeds donated to the Little Poland in Nepal Foundation – an organisation dedicated to rebuilding a country with a population of 27 million.

The Savoy’s Erik Lorincz at Fairmont Singapore

After clinching the best bartender accolade for the second consecutive year at The Bar Awards 2016, Tom Hogan isn’t about to rest on his laurels just yet. The American mixologist will team up with award-winning bartender Erik Lorincz of The Savoy London, helping to form a formidable alliance. Visitors can catch these two bar maestros shakin’ and mixin’ on 18th March at Fairmont Singapore’s Anti:dote, in what promises to be a spectacular evening of cocktails, invigorating conversations, and good times.

Savoy London presents One Night is happening at Anti:dote on Friday, 18 March 2016 from 9pm onwards. 

Perigord Burger at Wildfire Burgers

Burger lovers, rejoice! Wildfire Burgers’ all new Perigord Burger see Wagyu Intercostal (rib finger) cooked alongside Rostbiff (central part of the rump) in an INKA 500ºC double-ventilated charcoal grill oven for a succulent and tender patty. After the patty is slathered with gruyere cheese and perigord sauce, it’s sandwiched between a fluffy bun hybrid of brioche and pretzel. Limited to 20 servings a day.

The Flying Sommelier Tour

A joint collaboration between CÉ LA VI, Pollen and Salt Grill & SkyBar, The Flying Sommelier Tour sees the worlds of wine and food come together for a good cause. Expect a series of three five-course dinners, with sommeliers from each establishment hand-picking the wine selection and hosting the meals. Vino labels served during the various dinners are available for purchase on-site, and part of the proceeds will go to the Society for the Physically Disabled.

Price: $388++ per restaurant or $888++ for all three restaurants. (Pollen – 21st March 2016, Salt Grill & SkyBar – 18th April 2016, CÉ LA VI – 23rd May 2016).
