5 Things To Do In Singapore This Week: 26th November to 2nd December 2018

As we enter December, it’s clear that the festivities have begun. If you haven’t boarded the woohoo train, it’s time to start this weekend with free flow gin, whisky, and sake and partying it up with Tropika’s garden soiree at Fort Canning or with La Mamie’s boundary-pushing music. You could also throw some money at designer toys during Culture Cartel 2018 (hey, early Christmas pressies?) or laugh and watch, as everything falls apart for the Guards at the Taj.

What’s better than chilling out with great music? Doing it during the day, of course! Head down to Tropika’s first party at Fort Canning Park, where you can nod (or bop) along to tunes by an array of musicians including Daniel Haaksman (Man Recordings, DE) and Deborah Emmanuel & Kiat (Syndicate SG). Engage with like-minded individuals during panel discussions on Singapore’s music and art scene and grab a bite after at one of the wholesome food stalls at the party.

Tropika 1st Edition will be happening on 2 December 2018, Sunday at Fort Canning Park. Pre-sale tickets available here for $35. Tickets at the door are available for $45.

Guards at the Taj

Don’t miss out the last week’s showing of this dark comedy play. Guards at the Taj begins with the endearing friendship between two imperial guards and their lively discussion on the yet-unseen Taj Mahal behind them, a monument of beauty newly completed by 20,000 craftsmen. What will expose the horrible secrets behind this man-made icon, leading up to a final resounding question on the human condition? With tongue-in-cheek delivery, expect a fun but thought-provoking night with these two average joes.

Guard at the Taj will be playing from 26 November – 1 December 2018, Mon – Sat at KC Arts Centre – Home of SRT. Tickets available here for $45.
