The Vanishing, or Time Goes Away
As Singapore celebrates SG50, a mark of progress intersects with a re-inspection of history. We look down the wells of nostalgia and question what exactly this sense of nostalgia entails; is it a form of critique, resistance, or capitulation in the land of SG50? The Vanishing, or Time Goes Away dissect the nostalgic nation; from playgrounds to kuehs, to vanishing architecture and hawkers, it’ll bring you down memory lane and into the future to figure out what was lost, what we’re losing, and what we’re only afraid to lose—and why.
The Vanishing, or Time Goes Away is happening from 16 March – 7 April 2019, 2pm – 7pm at The Substation, 45 Armenian Street, Singapore 179936. Admission is free.
