Trick-or-treat season is nearly upon us, and we’ve more than our fair share of Halloween shenanigans this week. Get your freak on at CÉ LA VI‘s sumptuous circus bash, or delve into tales and terrors from beyond at the Asian Civilisations Museum. If you’d rather chill out than get Halloween chills, head down to #SupportLocal at Telok Ayer‘s car-free fest, before winding down with craft sakes at one of Singapore’s top izakayas.
Tipple Up at Sake Sake 2019
If last month’s Sake Matsuri hasn’t slaked your thirst for nihonshu, Sake Sake 2019 certainly will. Organised by Shukuu Izakaya, this craft sake festival will feature over 30 award-winning breweries − the likes of Roman, Tenmei, and Gunma − and amongst them, some unusual serves such as sake yoghurt and warmed sake. With Hanaizumi Shuzo brewmaster Makoto Hoshi on hand to share about the intricacies of sake brewing, you’re sure to leave with a deeper appreciation of this tipple (and likely a bottle or two).
Standard tickets are priced at S$48, but CN readers can enter the promo code ‘lastminutehengah‘ during online payment for S$10 off your ticket purchase!
Sake Sake 2019 is happening on 27 October 2019 from 1pm to 6pm, at Shukuu Izakaya, 8 Stanley St, Singapore 068727. Standard tickets are priced at S$48.
Catch A Flick Under The Stars at Moonlight Cinema 2019
Few things in life are better than an alfresco film screening on a balmy evening. In the run-up to this November’s Singapore International Film Festival, SGIFF is whetting our appetites with three music-themed treats.
Snuggle down on the cushy lawns of Gardens by the Bay and soak up some laughs with Empire Records (25 Oct), a comedy featuring capitalist titans vs. indie record store employees. For soul-stirring plots and lively tunes, catch The Chorus (26 Oct) − a tale of troubled youth whose lives are transformed by song − or Secret Superstar (27 Oct), an Indian musical-drama about a teenage girl who challenges patriarchal norms to chase her singing dreams.
Moonlight Cinema 2019 by SGIFF is happening from 25 to 27 October 2019 at Supertree Grove Lawn, Gardens by the Bay, 18 Marina Gardens Dr, Singapore 018953. Admission is free.
Get Wild And Wicked with Cirque Le Soir
It’s a circus up there in CÉ LA VI. For Halloween, the sky-high club lounge is teaming up with elite London nightclub Cirque Le Soir, to unleash wicked, wacky theatrics like never before. Head down in your freakiest threads and get ready to romp with a crazy cast of fire breathers, burlesque dancers, and bizarre contortionists. With premium pours and sizzling beats from CÉ LA VI’s resident DJs, this All Hallows’ bash is set to be hotter than hell.
Dirty Circus Feat. Cirque Le Soir is happening on 26 October 2019 from 10pm onwards, at CÉ LA VI, Level 57, Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, Hotel Tower 3, 1 Bayfront Avenue, Singapore 018971. Tickets are priced at S$28 for early birds and S$38 at the door.
