Events might be shutting down left and right due to the coronavirus situation, but there’s still plenty left to do in this fine city. Need to load up on the booze? Make your way to Canjob Taproom and Rogue Trader. Or, celebrate the women in your life at Kult Yard and The Hive this International Women’s Day.
Canjob Unplugged #2
Because we simply can’t get enough of the name Canjob. But really, these guys are pushing the frontiers of beer drinking in Singapore. For the second edition of their Canjob Unplugged series, look forward to a gathering around live music, light bites, and the shop’s excellent brew selection from brands like Anderson Valley, Bison, Mikkeller, and Pirate Life. Two bands will be performing this Tuesday from 8:30pm – first up is Siiilk, a guest band from France who’ll be revisiting a few psychedelic folk songs from their two albums in an acoustic setup, followed by a groovy R&B funk and soul set from Butter Jam.
Canjob Unplugged #2 is happening on 3 March 2020, 8.30pm – 11.30pm at Canjob Taproom, 50 Tiong Bahru Rd #01-03, Singapore 168733. Admission is free.
International Women’s Day Music & Market
This week is also time to celebrate the women in our lives. And where better to join the cult of female DJs, entertainers, entrepreneurs, makers, and creators in Singapore than at the newly-launched Kult Yard? Dance to a rad lineup of vinyl DJs (MissT, Suzy Q, Orcheed) and live acts like Masia One and Nina Lestari, all while promoting gender equality and women’s rights by raising money for Aware Singapore. Enjoy vegan food courtesy of Taste Of Kult by Hana, and plus, the event is pet- and kid-friendly too!
International Women’s Day Music & Market is happening on 8 March 2020, 4pm – 10pm at Kult Yard, 195 Pearl’s Hill Terrace 01-54, Singapore 168976. Admission is free.
The Great Escape presents Kampong Boogie
It’s time again for yet another rooftop discotheque party at Victoria Wholesale Centre. Kampong Boogie remains one of our favourite seshs for boogieing down to all things reggae, funk, soul, and hip-hop, with a little bit of tropical and world music thrown in. DJs Brendon P, Ramesh, and MC SWTLKR (with special guest Rumshot on percussion) come on from 6pm to the smell of delicious Caribbean-inspired food by Jamdown Jerk to fuel your night. Vegan and vegetarian options available!
Kampong Boogie is happening on 7 March 2020, 6pm – 1am at Victoria Wholesale Centre Rooftop, #08-02, 101 Kallang Avenue, Singapore 339508. Limited tickets available at the door, priced at S$10 before 10pm and S$15 after 10pm.
