The arrival of December is not the only reason to celebrate. This week sees the return of the much-anticipated dance music festival ZoukOut and the arrival of a massive carnival like no other. Also, join a craft beer exploratory tour, watch a brand new Korean-Singapore theatrical production, and party with renowned beatmaker Eric Cloutier.
ZoukOut 2017
Surely you know this one? After all, ZoukOut is only Asia’s largest dance music festival on the beach, and it’s back for another epic round of dusk-to-dawn revelry this Friday and Saturday. In its 17th edition this year, look forward to two distinct stages spread across everything from EDM and Trance to Techno, House, and more, including A-list names Flume, Marshmello, Robin Schulz, DJ Snake, Amelie Lens, and special live acts Joji and Rich Chigga in collaboration with 88rising.

Marina Bay Carnival
Forget Uncle Ringo fairs for a moment and turn your attention towards the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival, touted as Singapore’s biggest carnival to date with over 40 heart-stopping thrill rides (think the fearsome Star Flyer, Booster Maxx, and Cyclone Coaster) and games from all over the globe, including the UK, Germany, and Italy – many of them here for the first time. Fancy plush toys? There are over a million of them from Marvel and Pixar up for grabs, alongside delectable bites and delicious gourmet offerings.

A Quayside Vibe
There’s nothing like a cold pint of beer on a Saturday afternoon, is there? From iconic American IPA’s to thirst-quenching Singapore Golden Ales, this boozy tour by SG on Tap will take you through a VIP beer tasting at a secret craft beer bar and local brewery – delicious finger food for lining up the stomach included! That’s three hours of happy drinking, learning about the fundamentals of beer, about the brewing process, and about what makes Singapore’s brewing scene so unique.

Flying Through Time: A RWS Theatrical Extravaganza
Fans of Korean productions or otherwise will want to check out Flying Through Time, and acrobatic and theatrical extravaganza produced with one of the leading creative celebrities in Korea, Choi Chul Ki. Starring local personalities Joshua Tan and Melody Low, as well as an international cast of athletes from South Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia, and Malaysia, follow the hilarious story of the noble warrior Tiger who traversed through time and space from ancient Korea to modern Singapore – replete with eye-popping stunts and a winning dose of local flavour.

Interstellar with Eric Cloutier – Palinoia/ Bunker NY (USA)
After bringing us names such as Robert Leiner, µ-Ziq, Eat Static, Minilogue, The Delta, Bandulu, Shifted, and Marco Shuttle, Interstellar is now closing the year with one of the most remarkable music selectors on the planet: Eric Cloutier. Known for his unique sound – dark but warm, dynamic, original, and captivating – and ability to combine dance music’s past and future, this self-described record digging psychopath from Detriot is one to watch. Plus, get fuelled up with the delicious bar by BottlesXO.
