Films At The Fort
Sit under the stars and enjoy a movie amid the lush surroundings of Fort Canning. Singapore’s favourite open-air cinema event returns this year with an amazing assortment of classics, cult favourites and blockbusters. This year’s programme includes Oscar-winning documentary ‘Citizenfour’, recent hit release ‘The Imitation Game’ and classics like ‘The Shawshank Redemption’. Get your picnic mat and head down early to grab a good spot. By the way, every ticketholder gets a free scoop of Ben And Jerry’s ice cream to slurp on while watching their film!

The Lover’s Inventory by Cyril Wong (Launch)
Cyril Wong’s new collection of poems, The Lover’s Inventory, is “mischievous, ambivalent, erotic, sentimental and hopefully profound”. Reaching out to past flings, lovers, and exes, his new canon describes the challenges of desire, loneliness, and letting go. Head down to BooksActually on this Friday, where Cyril Wong will be reading from and talking candidly about this anticipated new collection.

Chan Hampe Galleries presents: Common Ground

Chan Hampe Galleries at the Raffles Hotel Arcade celebrates its 5-year anniversary with an exhibition entitled ‘Common Ground’. In keeping with the SG50 mood, the exhibition seeks to transcend traditional identity boundaries and consider the unique commonalities we all share as Singaporeans. Common Ground features many artists the gallery has worked with over the past five years, and also serves as an acknowledgement of their work and creations.
The exhibition will run from 15 Aug – 13 Sept 2015 at Chan Hampe Galleries from 11am – 7pm. The exhibition is closed on Mondays and Public Holidays. Admission is free.
The Maine Live In Singapore
Back for a second show after their sold-out gig in Singapore two years ago, The Maine bring their catchy pop-rock to the St. James Power Station on 15th August. Playing old favourites alongside current hits from their newest, infectious ‘American Candy’ album, we’re sure The Maine will win hearts here all over again!
The Maine will perform on 15th August 2015, 6.30pm at Neverland II, St. James Power Station. Tickets cost $68 and are available here.
Marina Bay Sands’ Epicurean Market 2015
Spread across three highly palate-pleasing days, the MBS Epicurean Market’s third edition will feature master classes with Celebrity Chefs and award-winning bartenders, a massive Wine Zone featuring the best of the world’s cellars, and a sneak preview of an upcoming Celebrity Chef restaurant by Wolfgang Puck. Attendees can also look forward to the new After Party concept, as the Epicurean Market transforms into a buzzing night spot from 9pm to 1am. Get ready for tunes courtesy of international DJs, along with sumptuous night bites that will hit that supper sweet spot.
