This week, kick off 2018 with electro-pop tunes at stalwart club Zouk, garage and house from collective Sōko, a collaboration between two local veteran producers and a visit from French DJ Breakbot for one night only. Also, pop by our favourite indie movie theatre for a Middle Eastern film festival from Thursday to Sunday.
Overeasy Orchard Presents Breakbot
Start the year with French DJ Breakout at OverEasy Orchard. A one-night exclusive, get ready to dance to a mix of nu-disco, house and electropop as the producer breaks out a number of hits from 10pm till late. Bottles of Monkey Shoulder, Grey Goose and Tanqueray come in at $200++, or $300++ with entry if you go as a group of four, so grab your friends and head down for a good time.

Singapore Palestinian Film Festival
Embark on a journey through film as the Singapore Palestinian Film Festival returns for the third time at The Projector. Showcasing the works for Palestinian film makers and artists in Singapore in the form of narrative and immersive tales, be sure to catch movies and documentaries such as Flying Paper + Gaza from Within, Giraffada and the award-winning Radiance of Resistance from 4 to 7 January.

Sōko House & Garage
Party on with DJ collective Sōko, purveyours of UK Garage, Bass & House and specialists of epic parties made up of nostalgic anthems. Having been around for three years with a plethora of parties under their belts, their ardent following will be pleased to start their year right at Māo.

Come January 6 at the ever-popular Zouk, American electro-pop duo Breathe Carolina will be turning up the club for an exciting night of dance tunes. Along with an extensive portfolio of collaborations that includes Blasterjaxx and Apex, their debut dance Anywhere But Home claimed the “highest selling single” position on Armada Zouk – so you can be sure to party till the sun (almost) comes up.

Artifacts 08 Feat Funk Bast*rd & Ramesh
For one night only, indulge in alternative beats at the Intermission Bar as Artifacts rolls around for the eighth time. Featuring the tunes of local producer Funk Bast*rd of electronic music label Darker than Wax, and Meshradio founder and DJ Ramesh, both veterans will mix tunes beyond the club in a night of musical diversity and exploration from 10.30pm to 2.30am.
