This week, celebrate Singapore Art Museum’s 21st anniversary, experience the unbridled ecstasy of Tel Aviv’s flourishing club scene, explore the stereotypes of Palestine through film, and more.
The FUNtastic SAM Art Week Party
With live music sessions, artisanal pop-ups, a street picnic at 8Q, as well as extended opening hours to gallery exhibitions (have you checked out Singapore Biennale?), there’s nowhere better to start the weekend festivities than the Singapore Art Museum. Shop the street bazaar in the afternoon with brands like Kam Cheng Snacks, Troops On Print, VYNY Crafts, and Talking Toes; come the evening, grab a picnic basket for two at just $40 and pretend you’re among green pastures rather than a concrete jungle, then sway to local musicans BECKA, LEW, Theodora, Shak’thiya Subramaniamm and DJ Dodgy Yamamoto well into the night.
The FUNtastic SAM Art Week Party is happening from 20 to 22 January 2017 at Singapore Art Museum. For more details, check out the event page here.
Kilo Lounge presents Guy J with Cats on Crack
Driven by a simple desire to be a part of Tel Aviv’s wildly enthusiastic and uninhibited club scene, Guy J first launched his music career at the humble age of 14 in his home studio – aptly named “The Cave”. A decade later, his seminal sounds have extended infinitely beyond his wildest expectations, sculpting melodies from his soul such that they almost seem to develop a soul of their own. Thanks to that, we have the honour of enjoying his music live this Friday at Kilo Lounge!
Guy J with Cats on Crack is happening on Friday, 20 January 2017, 10pm till late at Kilo Lounge. Cover charge is priced at $20. For more details, check out the event page here.

Find out who we’re looking forward to seeing the most here.

Singapore Palestinian Film Festival 2017
Palestine has often been portrayed by the media as an area of violence and unrest, which is what the first ever Singapore Palestinian Film Festivals aims to change. Breaking common stereotypes surrounding the lives of residents living in the Palestinian territories through the power of film, the five screenings – Amber Fare’s Speed Sisters (2015), Jackie Salloum’s Sling-Shot Hip-Hop (2008), Amer Shomali and Paul Cowan’s The Wanted 18 (2014), Elia Suleiman’s The Time That Remains (2003), and Emad Brunett and Guy Davidi’s 5 Broken Cameras (2011) – show how the daily lives can be divorced from the political situation through culture and other means.
Singapore Palestinian Film Festival is happening from 21 to 22 January 2017 at The Projector. Tickets are priced from $13.50, available here. For more details, check out the event page here.
