Fred Perry’s Subculture series is back after a three-year hiatus! Staying true to its vision of introducing the best new sounds onto a global stage, this year’s edition features a headlining DJ set by Jack Savidge of British indie band Friendly Fires. He’ll be supported by some of Singapore’s brightest trailblazers – including DJ collective POPTART, dream pop band Subsonic Eye, and tropical pop outfit Specific Islander – and an audiovisual projection from EMPYREAL a.k.a. Amanda Tan.

Fred Perry SubcultureLive is happening on Thursday, 4 August 2016 at Gallery & Co. from 7pm to 11pm. Admission is free with registration. For more details, check out the event page here.

Esplanade Festival Village 2016

Head down to the Esplanade waterfront this weekend and experience the hustle and bustle of the Esplanade Festival Village, featuring over 50 stalls selling delicious treats, speciality goods, and artisanal works curated by local multi-label shopping hub LalooLalang. The Spy, The Thug, His Wife and Her Lover: A Theatrical Dining Experience

Andsoforth presents its latest thrilling interactive dining experience: The Spy, The Thug, His Wife and Her Lover. Work together with The Spy through a series of rooms and scenarios as you attempt to break out of prison, extract information, and conceal identities – all as you consume food, guzzle down fabulous cocktails and make merry. As usual, the location is secret, and instructions to your meeting point will be sent with your ticket confirmation. Ain’t it exciting?

Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra: Butterfly Lovers & The Yellow River

A cultural concert of East meets West, the brand-new Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra presents its inaugural performance with two iconic Chinese classical works, Butterfly Lovers (featuring prodigious young violinist Gabriel Ng) and The Yellow River, also showcasing works from several local composers. Get into the National Day mood with familiar Singaporean tunes such as Home, Chan Mali Chan, Bunga Sayang and a never-before-heard version of our national anthem!

Starving Artist Fair – National Day Edition

A quarterly festival dedicated to shining the spotlight on independent artists, the Starving Artist Fair puts up original indie comics, illustrations, artworks, merchandise, and toys for sale, as well as hosts talks and workshops on drawing and storytelling.
