As you may now know, the Singapore International Festival of Arts is back on the calendar this year. The platform’s public engagement initiative, the O.P.E.N. – open, participate, enrich, negotiate art – is seeking 100 passionate and committed individuals who are 17 years and above to be part of a participatory public arts project, Ways of Wandering.
Interested participants, who need not have prior arts experience, are invited to the O.P.E.N. call on Saturday, 15 February 2014 for a sampling of the arts experience that will make up the rehearsal process for a performance. At the O.P.E.N. call, taster workshops will be led by five Singapore artist-mentors:
Philip Tan (art of sound)
Joavien Ng (contemporary dance)
Jeremiah Choy (theatre)
Sharda Harrison (theatre)
Jason Wee (multi-media)
At the end of the O.P.E.N. call, the selected participants will work with the five artist-mentors over a four-month period starting March 2014, to create their work that will be presented at two heritage sites in mid-July 2014. The O.P.E.N. call will be held from 11am to 5pm on Saturday, 15 February 2014 at 72-13, Mohamed Sultan Road.
Registration is free, email or call 8424 2785.
