Art Day Out! at Gillman Barracks: March Edition

19 MAR 2016 |

Following their successful Art After Dark open house during January’s Singapore Art Week, Gillman Barracks will be hosting yet another edition of Art Day Out!, which includes an educational talk on art collecting, new gallery exhibitions, open artist studios, art activities for children, guided tours by docents, new tenant Creamier café, and more.

For visitors who prefer having a guide to the galleries, volunteer docents from the FOM Singapore will also lead the signature Gillman Barracks Art & History Tour that will uncover exciting art works in a selection of the galleries, with a dose of the Barracks’ history. For history buffs, there is also a dedicated tour that traces the Barracks’ evolution from a British Military base to the present day visual arts precinct. Art & History Tour at 430 to 6pm. History & Heritage tour at 5 to 6pm.

By popular demand, Red Baron and the Singapura Dub Club will present part 2 of their Jamaican music and BBQ street party featuring 2 types of jerk chicken and Ska, Reggae and Dancehall tunes. There will also be a drawing and coloring contest for kids and a Rasta market curated by Flea Fly Flo Fun.

There’ll be something for everyone—from the art enthusiast, the art collector, the art scholar, the arty party goer, to even the littlest art lover!

Art Day Out! at Gillman Barracks is happening on Saturday, 19 March at Gillman Barracks from 2pm to 7pm. For more details, check out the event page here.
