Art Day Out! replaces July’s edition of Gillman Barracks’ Art After Dark. Held on a Saturday from 11am to 8pm, visitors now have more time to explore the galleries’ new shows and special programmes, and find out more about the Barracks’ other tenants and partners.
Some highlights of Art Day Out! include the [NTU CCA Singapore](https://www.gillmanbarracks.com/others/ntu-cca-singapore)’s Residencies: OPEN series, where the eight current artists-in-residence will open their studios. Projects range from site-specific installations, recording studios and community gathering spaces, including a special project by artist Bani Haykal where visitors can borrow bikes with sonic recording devices to journey around Gillman Barracks. There will also be film screenings in collaboration with the Asian Film Archive.
Specially during Art Day Out!, Southeast Asia’s flagship art fair [Art Stage Singapore](https://www.facebook.com/artstagesingapore) presents Catharsis, a participatory performance art piece by Indonesian artist Syagini Ratna Wulan, where audiences can even get involved through the throwing of plates. Local art archivist Mr Koh Nguan How will also launch 50 Years of Singapore Art Archives, a 3 month pop-up exhibition that explores 50 years of Singapore’s visual arts scene.
There will also be F&B pop-ups, a book sale and a mini local design and maker fair. Timbre @ Gillman will host its children-friendly Saturday Social BBQ while Red Baron café and bar will host Pasar Malan (at the junction of Malan Road and Red Baron) featuring a festival craft market, gourmet burgers and craft beers, as [Darker than Wax](https://www.facebook.com/DarkerThanWax) takes over DJ duties from 4pm till late.
Shuttle bus services from HarbourFront MRT (exit D), Queenstown MRT (exit B) and the bus stop in front of PSA Building will be provided throughout the duration of the event.
The event will take place on 25 July from 10pm onwards at Gillman Barracks.
