Affiliated with The Dutch Jazz Summer School in South Korea. Holland has enjoyed a rich tradition in the education of jazz music for about 30 years now. In fact Holland was the first country in Europe to include jazz in the curriculum of the music university’s and to develop it at an international level. No less than 10 music universities in Holland have jazz music departments, each with its own unique vision, and each of which contributes enormously to professional music education in Holland.
Inspiration
In 2009 the first edition of the Dutch Jazz Summer School was held in South Korea with all Dutch teachers from several conservatories in Holland. In 2013 the fifth edition was held. This Edition was a special edition. In this edition many foreign students participated. For example, The Japanese Kunitachi Music Academy in Tokyo participated. Seven students from Indonesia also attended the Summer School.
Because of the participation of the Indonesian students who were coming to the Dutch Jazz Summer School in South Korea, the [Ubud Village Jazz Festival](http://www.ubudvillagejazzfestival.com) was inspired to consider an Indonesian Jazz Summer School in Bali during the Ubud Village Jazz festival in 2014. In 2013 the founders of The Dutch Jazz Summer School in South Korea were invited to the Ubud Village Jazz Festival to discuss the possibility of organizing this event.
