Opened in May 2015 by the team behind one of Seminyak’s most raved-about cafes, Sisterfields, BOSS MAN was designed by award-winning firm (that sculpted Sisterfields too) Travis Walton Architects. The interior design stems from a conceptual representation of the perfect hamburger; subtle curves of exposed aggregate concrete meet metallic brass, bronze mirrors and glossy white tiles for a modern, upmarket feel and some serious street appeal.
BOSS MAN serves up six signature gourmet burgers and each of them presents their own distinct personas. Of course, we had to order The Original Gangster (Rp 85k) – the classic beef burger with all the trimmings: American cheddar, heirloom tomatoes, grilled onions and a trio of homemade sauces – and the mean and meaty Al Capone (Rp 85k). The latter is carnivorously and indulgently stacked with smoked bacon and smoked cheddar, a bone marrow emulsion, grilled onions and a final slap of house-smoked BBQ sauce).
For the vegetarians (yep, you’re not left out!), The Gandhi fulfils your dietary needs with an edamame, quinoa & sunflower seed patty, loaded with a beetroot and walnut salad. Additionally, all of their burgers are made using top quality ingredients, from 60-day dry-aged chuck steaks shaped in-house daily, to juicy, tender pork cooked low and slow over 18 hours, charged by their homemade sauces.
Every good meal is not complete without excellent sides. From french fries with BOSS seasoning (Rp 22k), house made pickles to truffle fries with poricini and parmesan and truffle aioli (Rp 39k), jalapeño poppers to truffled Mac n’ tripled cheese balls and loaded fries with pulled pork, jalapeño, grilled queso blanco, coriander and chipotle mayo (Rp 75k). While everything sounds amazing, definitely go with their truffled Mac n’ tripled cheese balls if you love cheese and truffles. Besides, what made the experience unique was we were able to dine at BOSS MAN and still enjoy cocktails and desserts from Sisterfields.
So at any one point you crave for a burger, hit up the joint because they fire up the grill for 7 days a week, 17 hours a day. And if you’re feeling lazy to travel, they do delivery directly to your doorsteps in bold BOSS MAN carry bags too.
