MEATLiquor presents Singapore’s first Boilermaker Night

Boilermaker Night will be the second installment of Happening, a series of pop-up events started by The Minute List to celebrate the F&B scene in Singapore. And now, City Nomads is joining the party in our shared love of the art of cocktail-making, and in our joint aspiration to pushing the local bartending scene to the next level.

In case you haven’t yet heard of The Minute List, they’re all about showing where the chefs go to eat, where bartenders drink and where baristas get their coffee from. Needless to say, they’ll be filming Boilermaker Night as well. The Minute List is as independent as it gets, and the venues they feature are by recommendation only, each of them nominated by someone in the trade, be it chef, bartender, or barista.

What can you expect from the Happening series? Check out this video below.

With Boilermakers already a hot trend in London and Sydney, we’re excited to announce our partnership with The Minute List as we bring you Singapore’s first Boilermaker Night on 14 July at MEATliquor, in association with Monkey Shoulder and Eastern Craft trading.

What’s a Boilermaker, you ask? The legacy started in America from blue-collar boilermakers – trained craftsman who produces steel fabrications such as plates and sections – who would sling back a pint of beer with a shot of whisky after a hard day’s work. Since then, the serve has evolved into a variety of modern cocktails that still stays true to its roots.

On this widely-anticipated Thursday night, some of the most creative bartenders in Singapore will come together to shake things up, mixing and stirring together their interpretation of the Boilermaker. Anything goes, and the only stipulation is that whisky and beer must be used. Judging them are some leading veterans from Singapore’s cocktail scene, and the winning bartender will get to walk home with the coveted Boilermaker trophy, a bottle of exclusive spirit courtesy of the sponsor, and a free meal for his entire crew.

Of course, you can also judge them for yourself. The entry price of $30 includes four of the cocktails that will be created, along with a voting card that lets you place your votes for your favourite Boilermaker-inspired cocktails. If you’re feeling peckish, simply order from the full selection of MEATliquor’s signature burgers and dishes!

Boilermaker Night is happening on Thursday, 14 July 2016 at MEATliquor from 8pm till late. Limited tickets are priced at $30 and are available at the door. For more details and to guarantee a ticket, please visit the event page here and place your RSVP.
