Haque Centre of Acting and Creativity (HCAC) will host renowned actress and writer Claudette Sutherland for two three-day Creative Writing & Performance workshops. Sutherland has had a long and successful acting career in theatre and television, and famously originated the role of Smitty in the Tony award and Pulitzer Prize winning play, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
With over 2,000 classes taught, Sutherland boasts several famous students as alumni, including comedian and author Yeardley Smith, who voices Lisa Simpson on The Simpsons, and actress/writer, Moon Unit Zappa, daughter of the late influential cult musician Frank Zappa. Sutherland, in her first trip to Singapore, will conduct an exclusive class at HCAC where participants will receive first hand guidance in crafting their own stories for any medium as well as enhance their storytelling skills. Each workshop culminates in a performance of the work created. The workshop caters to writers of all levels, including non-actors. Registration is now open. Interested parties are urged to sign up soon as vacancies are limited.
These workshops will be held from Friday, 23 January to Sunday, 1 February at the Haque Centre of Acting and Creativity.
