With a 615-seat proscenium theatre, an intimate 120-seater black box, VIP lounge and function rooms, the Drama Centre has come a long way since its establishment at Fort Canning Park in the ’80s. Back then, the Drama Centre was the key platform for showcasing the works of local companies just starting out, performing a range of iconic shows such a Lao Jiu, Army Daze and Mail Order Brides.
Now co-located in the National Library Building, today the Drama Arts Centre basks in the artsy-cultural vibe of the Bras Basah-Bugis area while ensuring synergy with the surrounding corporate sector.
