French Confectionary Giant La Cure Gourmande opens in Takashimaya

If you love all things sweet, buttery, and crumbly, we have good news!  Confectioner La Cure Gourmande has recently made its debut in good ol’ Takashimaya; and in a move that’ll have Francophiles purring with delight, all products are fashioned in vintage French style.

Co-founder of La Cure Gourmande, Mr. Edouard Hennebert believes in delivering a special experience that connects with consumers, “Our dedication stems from the reaction we had received from an elderly lady who visited our store in Balaruc-les-bains – her experience at the store led her to reminisce about her childhood.”

Look forward to more than 170 painstakingly handcrafted (at their workshop in France) goodies like the Filled Biscuit series ($5.50, 100g) with jam flavours of lemon, apricot, apple & cinnamon, raspberry and many more! Prefer a more traditional Mediterranean approach to your sweet treats? Try the Mantecao (100g – $5.50) – a shortbread cookie that is available in lemon, almond, and chocolate.

Those of you whose palate skews to the savoury end of things can pick up the Navette, a traditional shortbread pastry from Marseille that comes in both sweet and savoury versions. The former ($5.50, 100g) come in flavours like orange blossom, cinnamon, and almond, while the latter ($15, 230g) sees spices such as provence herbs, cumin, tumeric, chill powder, and curry powder.

Overall, the prices might be a little high for confectionaries – we chalk that up to flying every single thing in from France – but you know where to indulge for some French goodness now!
