Gem Bar will be celebrating its 5th anniversary in a 2-day party from June 27 to 28 with five home grown music collectives. Featuring over 15 DJs from Matteblacc, Datdatdat, Attagirl!, Darker Than Wax and Syndicate, this one is something for the books.
Leading up to the festivities, Gem Bar has a guest act all the way from the States and an array of nights for your kind patronage.
First up, Los Angeles’ music producer and painter Teebs will be headlining a Syndicate night on June 6 at Zui Hong Lou. The key member of Brainfeeder will showcase a live set and an exhibition of his collection of paintings and drawings titled Ante Vos.
On the home grown tip ahead of Gem Bar’s anniversary, The Diarist Sessions Open Mic, Darren Dubwise and Roze & The Band returns for your aural pleasure. Founding flag-bearer of Singapore’s drum and bass scene, Zul Othman, will be headlining the monthly SELECTED nights this time around. Previous nights have featured the likes of Maurice Simon, Kurt, Sivanesh and Gonzo.
