If you’ve lived in Singapore long enough, you would have known that the city’s event calendar is simply flourishing with top parties and top-notch international guest DJs week after week. That being said, we’re excited for BLACKOUT Agency’s return this November with their signature Escape 56 series – a heart thumping collaboration with Jagermeister – and one of the biggest names in Germany’s electronic music circuit: Roman Flügel.
With a penchant for bringing unique experiences to every single party, Singaporean DJ Zig Zach also aims to educate partygoers about arts, music, and culture through collaborations with artists and musicians. For the upcoming Escape 56 in Singapore, look out for the exhibition by Singapore’s photography collective Colossal Photos. Head honcho of the company, Afiq Omar, helms the team of unsung heroes who helped built the scene with their photography for mega festivals like St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, ZoukOut, and Ultra Singapore.
The Henderson Project – a multi-disciplinary platform aimed at adding to Singapore’s sub-cultural capital – is also returning as the venue partner. Together with BLACKOUT Agency, we’ll be expecting another unique experience!
Above all, Escape 56 has also expanded its party series off shore to one of our favourite cities, Bangkok with industry veteran Sunju Hargun. As Zach explains, “The Bangkok edition will be in many ways similar to that of Singapore, with the concept of finding unique venues that aren’t clubs and turning them into a unique pop-up clubbing experience. For the first party, we’ll focus more on the event as we want to nail it down and we’ll be working on collaborations with artists and Thai musicians in the future. Hopefully we’ll be able to bring them to Singapore and vice versa.”
And that’s not all – this isn’t just a one-off collaboration between the boys; they’re already looking at potential dates in 2018. “I have January and March already in the talks right now. So once the event in November with Roman is over, I’ll be setting things in motion for that then.”
The event in the little red dot will be supported by Singapore’s Yadin and Indonesia’s Jonathan Kusuma; and Maurice Simon and Bangkok’s DOTT and Junesis will be warming up the dancefloor at the Bangkok party.
“I’ve my eyes on one or two more cities in Southeast Asia (S.E.A) but it’s too soon and I want to focus on Bangkok for now as it’s my second home. It would be nice to be a part of this subculture and help to grow and develop the scene further. In the meantime, I hope to meet the right people in these cities who are determined, passionate and eager to do bigger and better things for themselves and the scene in S.E.A.” says Zach.
The Escape 56 Warehouse Party is happening on 3 November 2017 in Singapore and 4 November 2017 in Bangkok. The last ticket release for the Singapore party is available at SGD$55 via WAAVE, while the Bangkok party is priced at THB$800 via EventPop. For more details, check out the event page here.
