Gnossem: Impeccable fashion taste made easy!

When a fashion website is founded by a former international fashion model, it stands to reason that it’s going to be pretty amazing right? As someone who has travelled the world, wearing the most exciting, innovative, luxurious and ‘in-demand’ designs, one would imagine that it would lead to exceptional knowledge, discerning taste and a fabulous eye….and we have to say, in the case of Gnossem, it does.

Founded by Lisa Crosswhite – one of Singapore’s style icons who is regularly called upon to dish out fashion advice and styling tips – Gnossem is luxurious….absolutely, but their focus on independent, unique and in some cases, very-limited brands, makes for truly exclusive, statement fashion from all corners of the globe, readily accessible and available at the click of a button.

The fashion designers that Gnossem carry all represent a niche product or look and are curated for their acute attention to detail and quality, as well as commitment to a unique artistic vision. These kinds of pieces couldn’t be further from ‘throw-away’ fashion and instead are the kinds of things you’ll cherish forever. Excitingly, Gnossem whilst certainly being aspirational and luxurious, is not unattainable with items starting at $20, so your slice of chic fashion pie is not out of reach.

We took a peek on site (after locking our credit card away first – occupational hazard!) and rounded up a few favourites. Husband, friends, family….if you’re reading this, it’s Christmas coming up yes? You know where I’m heading with this.

MeDusa

The concept of MeDusa came to life in 2009, when Israeli designers Gili Rozin Tamam and Adi Gal searched for a way to bring innovative textiles into the fashion and accessories industry. They were driven by the desire to create something completely new and to take a relatively well-known material and use it in a groundbreaking and innovative way. Well, you would not believe it! but these incredibly stylish bags are made from sculpting a compound of industrial plastic! (who knew?!) The rich vibrant hues are intoxicating and tropical, the designs are somehow simultaneously classic yet urban and we very much like the fact that all MeDusa’s designs are cruelty-free, eco-friendly, and incredibly durable.

Cruciani

By now you’ve probably spotted some of these on the arms of the stylish fashion urbanites of Singapore, but they are so simple, pretty and elegant, this is one trend we can’t see dying soon. With so many designs, each different and distinctive, this casual yet sophisticated arm candy is the quickest way to amp up your style points a few notches.

Taara Jewellery

With a strong Indian influence and an opulent aesthetic, Taara Jewellery is almost regal in its design and we’re not the only ones that think so, we’ve spotted her beautiful pieces in the likes of Vogue and InStyle. Inspired by India’s rich hues and vibrant heritage if you’re looking for a statement piece, you’re in the right place.

Finders Keepers

We have to say it, we love this brand. So playful and fun without being overtly wacky y’know? Just easy to wear whilst still being effortlessly stylish. Finders Keepers designs are vibrant, colourful and quirky, and manage to combine girlish, pretty design and sassiness with apparent ease.

Lion Earl

Homegrown Lion Earl’s magic-eye like designs are the result of fashion designer Lionel Low and architecture-trained Hariz Lim’s creative collaboration. Intent with challenging the boundaries of art and aesthetics, Lionel and Hariz meld the traditions of fashion and architecture into eye-catching pieces that are totally unique.

Georgine

If you have a little more cash to splash, Georgine designs are beautiful and chic. Clever contrasting between structure and softness, modern and classic and a chic colour palate conveys a simple, timeless yet decidedly feminine elegance.
