The circus has come to town, and I’m not talking about dancing elephants and water-squirting red noses! If you’ve already been to see Le Noir – then waaah, that bit with the two insanely buff men!! and the balancing….oh my goodness, and then….gasp…the roller-skating bit, and her neck…..and well, I don’t want to give too much away but sheesh! the girls on the trapeze…and the flips, and the spins….
If you’re wondering what on earth I’m talking about, then let me introduce Le Noir.
For the first time in Singapore, and direct from a sell out season in Tokyo comes Le Noir, an extraordinary evening of intimate cirque-style entertainment starring some of the most incredible acrobatic acts on earth – watched mainly peeking through my fingers in nervousness, amazement and awe.
The custom-built circular stage allows the audience a unique perspective, very true to the real high-top experience, but also being so close to the performers allows a spectacular and occasionally startling perspective. Acrobatics, contortionists, and astonishing acts of physical dexterity are interspersed with some seriously saucy dancing and snippets of comedy. You find yourself quite grateful for these moments to let your nerves relax but pretty soon you’re back to, mouth open “how on earth?” territory!
The performers are absolutely focused, incredibly brave and precise as one would expect from such skilled gymnasts – add some dazzling light effects, funky soundtrack, and all round showmanship and Le Noir is a joy to watch.
Tickets are priced from SGD$35 and are on sale now, the show runs until the 7th of April so if you want to catch Le Noir, don’t hang around….hang around! Geddit?
