Lee Strasberg’s Method Acting (Introduction)

The Lee Strasberg’s Method Acting is the 1st of a 2 part introduction series on Method Acting. These modules are recommended for actors and non-actors.

Areas of Focus

– Introduces relaxation and sense memory for the actor as intended by Lee Strasberg

– Focuses on acting fundamentals

– Participants are guided in the process of creating one person devised performances

– Participants are coached on the practice, performance and analysis of monologue

– Participants learn how to approach text using basic scene elements

– Participants gain a greater awareness and understanding of themselves regardless of their background, a.k.a. ‘Know Thyself’

Syllabus:

3 modules. 8 weeks each. 4 hours per week

(32 hours of instruction per module)

The workshops will include:

1. Short lectures

2. Interactive group discussions

3. Writing exercises

4. Relaxation and sense memory exercises (As intended by Lee Strasberg)

5. Devised one person scenes

6. Monologue Work
