Lola’s Café

Run by a chef/barrista and a baker – so you can expect a fine cup of coffee and a mean cake – it’s small, cozy and has just the right amount of quirky. A lot of the furniture is actually for sale, including the ‘oh-so-now’ sewing machine tables and the gramophone plus a selection of vinyl records giving it a homely touch. These guys serve up breakfast classics such as Eggs Benny plus lunch and dinner, and they have a great selection of craft beers. Honest, unpretentious comfort fare at great prices in a comfy setting.

When Joel’s not partaking in one of his shameless eating sessions, he likes to think of himself as a sponge – absorbing the mysteries and beauty of our world – be it through a good book or a wacky jaunt in a foreign country.
