Music Matters Live with HP returns to Singapore for four huge nights of music magic: Over 60 bands, 18 countries, Over 170 shows
Kicking off on May 21 for four nights of meteoric music fiesta, this year’s edition continues to grow, with an additional night, more bands, more venues, and more shows; we’re waving the music-discovery flag even higher.
In town to impress the world’s music industry and Singapore’s music enthusiasts, over 60 bands from 18 countries will play over 170 shows in nine venues across Clarke Quay – one of Singapore’s vibrant nightlife
hubs – as well as in a few new satellite sites around the city in conjunction with the Timbre Music Group.
The line-up for this year is jam-packed with buzz-worthy and magnetic bands! Prominent and up-and- coming acts from around the world will make the trip to the Lion City, including Taiwan’s hip-hop godfather MC HotDog, blues, rock & roots master Ash Grunwald (AU), electronic rockers Love X Stereo (KR),metal heads Slapshock (PH), and local charmer boy-next-door Sezairi (SG). Each year we see new countries joining the festival and this year we are excited to welcome Portugal with The StoneWolf Band.
Also returning this year to the festival that matters are the highly anticipated country specific showcases, much to the excitement of the local and regional hardcore fans, including: Korea’s K-Pop Night Out, Canadian Blast, The Aussie BBQ, JAPAN NIGHT, Bravo Taiwan and Singapore’s very own Made In Singapore featuring at six of the city’s finest. Sounds Australia will also be debuting Sound Gallery for the first time in Asia at Music Matters Live with HP, following success in SXSW (USA) and Canadian Music Week (Canada).
Avid festival-goers will have more than one opportunity to catch the acts perform in various venues over four nights, and will be able to plan their nights of discovery ahead of time, thanks to the Music Matters App.
Clarke Quay’s central Fountain Stage will be the heart of the festival’s action. For three nights (May 22 to 24), fans from around the world will also be able to catch the shows as Music Matters Live with HP teams up with YouTube and a dedicated team of media and visual students fromRepublic Polytechnic to bring you the live stream at youtube.com/musicmatterstome.
