Musical Rendezvous @ NUH: Touching Patients’ Hearts Through Music

Come April 27th 2015, National University Hospital, Sing’theatre, SOXAL, and VitalAire-Attavon Singapore will be launching an exciting community outreach programme –  the Musical Rendezvous @ NUH.
Inspired by the belief that art is a fundamental right for everyone, regardless of their cultural background, status, or health, the Musical Rendezvous @ NUH aims to provide different generations of patients access to live musical performances, using music to inspire and create happy memories.

Musical Rendezvous @ NUH will run as a monthly showcase at National University Hospital, featuring a repertoire of homegrown musicians and acclaimed professionals such as Hossan Leong, Cat Ong & Friends, the Asian Contemporary Ensemble, Lauren Yeo, Leandra Leandra, and Flame of the Forest.

‘Music is a powerful and universal language that brings people together; and in a hospital environment, this is especially appreciated because it is also known to have the effect of reducing stress. We thank the musicians from Sing’theatre for bringing Musical Rendezvous @ NUH and creating many special moments through music for our patients, caregivers and staff,’ said Mrs Joy Wong, Director, Corporate Communications and Patient Relations, National University Hospital.

Musical Rendezvous @ NUH will take place every 1st Wednesday of every month, in the Lobby B of NUH’s main building from 12.30 to 1.30 pm and, in the wards, from 2 to 3 pm.
