If you’ve been following my reviews for some time, you’ll know that I enjoy few things more than a good burger. There is no doubt in my mind that with the mental strength to give them up, I’d have that six-pack I so desperately crave for within a month. However, my love for these bundles of happiness is too intense to ever consider walking away. Finding a good burger isn’t difficult in Bangkok; but finding a great burger is…so I was delighted to have stumbled upon Papa’s Kitchen.
Exterior of Papa’s Kitchen
Despite being situated a little out of the city centre, Papa’s Kitchen has managed to create a steady buzz around their Western-Thai comfort food menu. Whilst scanning through your options, you’ll be treated to some 60’s swing and a few classic power ballads to set the mood. The modern interior comes complete with an upstairs seating area that is perfect for large groups or birthday parties and the pleasant waitresses are more than happy to offer you some recommendations from the menu.

Get the ball rolling with munchies (perfect for sharing) like the Smoked Salmon Bruschetta (250 THB), Chicken Tenders (195 THB), and Papa’s Special Nachos (120 THB). Move on to meaty mains like the Steak Sandwich, which can be acquired for 450 THB, as well as the Bangers & Mash (295 THB), Fish & Chips (280 THB), and Baby Back Ribs (450 THB).
Bacon Cheeseburger at Papa’s Kitchen
For pasta lovers, Papa’s Special Baked Beef Lasagne (285 THB) is sure to get your mouth watering. Those looking for lighter options can try the Prawn Cocktail Panini or choose from a range of delicious salads. Cakes are baked fresh daily by a close friend of the owner and are available at a mere 160 THB.

A special mention needs to be reserved for the burgers, which are Papa Kitchen’s bread and butter. With a total of 18 types of Chargrilled Australian Beef Burgers on offer, it is a burger lover’s heaven! My personal favourite is The Godfather (450 THB); think 220g beef patty, grilled olive oil ciabatta, Italian buffalo mozzarella, beef tomato, rocket salad, Italian basil, pesto aioli, and balsamic tomato pickle. Alternatively, if you prefer some more classic, the Bacon Cheeseburger (450 THB) would more than satisfy. Oh, my days!
