4 Places to Celebrate Oktoberfest 2017 in Singapore for Free Flow Beer, Sausages, Schnitzel, and more

While traditionally a Bavarian festival to celebrate the union of Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese back in 1810, the Oktoberfest we know today celebrates a period of conviviality shared with friends and family – all while appreciating the food and drink of Germanic culture. We’ve rounded up the best places to celebrate Oktoberfest at this year, so look forward to tantalising beer promotions, authentic Germanic meat platters, and plenty of revelry.

The Chop House

Chop House’s 2 Person Platter

In celebration of this year’s Oktoberfest, The Chop House at VivoCity is offering a variety of Germanic platters until 3 October 2017. Perfect for those who relish their meats, the 2-person platter ($42) consists of Pork Schnitzel, Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs, Bratwurst, Pork & Fennel Sausage, Truffle Potato Salad, served with Sauerkraut & Red Wine Sauce. Alternatively, bring a bigger group of friends to partake in the 4-person platter ($82++), which stars additional and more indulgent cuts like the Pork Knuckle, Roasted Spring Chicken, Bratwurst, Spicy Chorizo, served with Steamed Asparagus and Sweet Potato Fries.

The only thing left to enhance the experience is The Chop House’s introduction of Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier Marzen – direct from Munich – that guests can enjoy at $12 per pint. The promotion will run until 3 October, so head down as soon as you can to catch these treats!

Here’s even more incentive to pop by the Chop House locations near you: the I12 Katong outlet will be hosting an  Oktoberfest Party on Wednesday, September 27, 7pm to 11pm with free-flow Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier Marzen.   You’ll even be able to indulge in the best of German culinary delights for just S$68++ per guest!

At the branch at VivoCity, the party will be on Wednesday, October 4, 7pm to 11pm with free-flow food, beer PLUS a live Paulaner Musikanten band performance! Tickets priced at S$88++ per guest.

SPRMRKT’S Plougman Platter

This Oktoberfest, beer connoisseurs will rejoice at the Beer O’Clock specials over at SPRMRKT on McCallum Street with bottled craft beers (think Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Summer Ale) available from 6pm onwards, where the price of the drink will match the hour all the way till 9pm. At SPRMRKT Daily in Roberston Quay, a Happy Hour Craft Beer Bucket of four bottles is going at $35 nett from 5pm to 8pm.

Both outlets will be offering the Ploughman Platter (large for two at $34nett, small for one at $20nett); you can’t go wrong with a plateful of Pork en Croute, herbed minced pork blanketed with brioche, beef salami, San Daniele Ham, housemade pork rillette on toast, and chicken harissa sausage. These promotions will run from 16 September until 3 October, so keep your eyes peeled for them!

Brotzeit Bier Bar & Restaurant

One of the pioneers of authentic Germanic fare in Singapore, it’s no surprise that Brotzeit Bier Bar will be throwing it’s 10th Oktoberfest bash this year. Head down to the Oktoberfest Party Weekend to enjoy either the two-hour free-flow beer at $45++ per person the or unlimited free flow at $88++ per person. The beer and the joviality will surely give you the munchies, so tuck into savoury treats like the Meatloaf Roll and Classic Berner Sausages for $15. Oktoberfest 2017 beer and food menus are available at all Brotzeit outlets from 5 September to 15 October. With live tunes and hilarious performances by the festive Germanic band Anton & The Funny Guys at the Oktoberfest Party Weekend from 28 September to 1 October 2017, you’re bound to have a jolly good time.

Oktoberfest Asia 2017

If you’re ready to party hard, Oktoberfest Asia 2017 is right up your alley, as this local celebration of the Bavarian festival will be held in a fully air-conditioned festival-styled marquee along Tan Quee Lan Street. This ticketed event is every beer lover’s dream, with each regular admission ticket entitling its holder to free flow brews from 6pm to 11.30pm each day, and access to a plethora of festive brews crafted especially just for the festival. With quality entertainment provided by the Hofbrauhaus band from Munich, you and your friends are sure to have an unforgettable night.
