Noise Singapore, Tact Space and Singapura Dub Club are proud to present RAIL JAMMIN’ , the last in a series of Rail Corridor multi- disciplinary art events celebrating the rich and diverse community of artists, talents and residents that have taken part in creating experiences at the Rail Corridor Art Space.
While there’s daylight, graffiti artists from ZNC (Zinc Nite Crew), Slacsatu, Ash-D, Hastwo, Noez, Roak, will be painting up a storm on one side of the tunnel. Meanwhile, a separate trio of artists, SKLO (RSCLS), Daiso and Soph O will be finishing up their 4-day roller painting marathon on the opposite side of the tunnel. All this will be done in fluorescent paint. At the same time, a community art area will provide materials to the public to paint and make up-cycled instruments. This will be led by Soph O and Jean Reiki under the design of sensory artist Annabelle Ling. Auree will also be conducting free Afrobeats dance workshops to get us all in the celebratory mood.
When darkness falls, black light will flood the tunnel to light the fluorescent wall pieces as well as showcase Brandon Tay’s shadow box installation. Video projection artist Empyreal will also be continuing her exploration of the space by projecting on the ceilings of the tunnel. Dance Artist Escoe will also join this jam by throwing up a funky dance showcase. The audio landscape accompanying the art jam includes Djs who have been innovating new possibilities in their genres of music – through sound production, software design, innovative marketing, production creation. Ill Gates (CAN), XLII (JPN), Arabyrd (KL), Aditya (JKT), together with our local DJs, Reiki, Shellsuit and Ming come together in creating a soundscape incorporating cultural elements of their environments in their music selections.
As with all the parties at the Rail Corridor Art Space, Rail Jammin’ is a free-for-all event. Come join the jam and go out with a bang!
Rail Jammin’ is happening on Saturday, 14 November 2015 at Rail Corridor Art Space from 3pm till late. Admission is free.
