Singapore Memory Project’s Home Exhibition

Do you remember your first home?

The HOME Exhibition by the Singapore Memory Project documents an intimate aspect of life in Singapore – our homes. Four projects supported by the irememberSG Fund will be on display and they explore how our homes have influenced us.

The First Homes exhibit looks at five first generation homes, which includes a tenement house and kampong, whereas the Moving Home exhibit takes us behind the intimate affair and stories of house moving within the Tanglin Halt neighbourhood. Alongside are the Cabinet of Curiosities exhibit, which uncovers forgotten personal artefacts and the stories they carry, and the Bits & Pieces, Odds & Ends exhibit, that captures the narratives of everyday Singaporeans and uncover ordinary objects which embody extraordinary personal and historical significance to their owners.

The HOME Exhibition by the Singapore Memory Project will take place from 3 April to 30 April 2015, form 10:00 AM – 09:00 PM at The Plaza, National Library, 100 Victoria Street.
