[SPEAK.](https://www.facebook.com/pages/SPEAK/474402562615793) is an experience which lauds the artistry of communication. SPEAK. inspires humour, compassion and love in the mundane. SPEAK. is seeing poetry in everyday life.
Organised by a poetry collective that was founded on a desire to give the people a voice, SPEAK. is a melting pot where lyricists come to share their innermost impressions in the form of spoken word. Born almost a year ago, SPEAK. has gilded Singapore’s blossoming Spoken Word scene with a platform for seasoned and up and coming poets alike. As a vessel for retrospect, SPEAK. salutes the freedom of speech in a society of suppression and welcomes you to join in the visceral experience.
This month’s edition features Bill Moran, a first-year MFA poetry candidate at Louisiana State University and a former medic. He was the 2012 & 2013 Austin Poetry Slam Champion, performed and taught poetry internationally, and served as president of Mic Check, a non-profit poetry organization in Texas. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Button Poetry, Phoebe, Bird’s Thumb, Next Left Press, FreezeRay Press, and The Dead Animal Handbook in print.
SPEAK will take place once every month on a Thursday at the [CANVAS Creative Space](https://www.facebook.com/canvascreativespace).
