Let’s face it, Orchard Towers is home to some of the most interesting and bizarre people you will see in Singapore. Ladyboys, real ladies, ‘ladies of the night’ and the most surprising mix of men that happen to end up there on a random drunken night… maybe even just to see the great live bands that play at Naughty Girl, Crazy Horse, and Ipanema. However, there is one very good reason to fight past all this insanity: Thai food, glorious Thai food!
Cafe Supunsa
My first experience of Thai food at Orchard towers was a ‘supper’, or should I say breakfast, considering it occurred at about 6am on a Thursday morning after watching a couple of World Cup games at the neighbouring Naughty Girl.
Whoever says Tom Yam Goong is not a valid breakfast has never tried it before. It’s superb here any time of the day. Don’t be shy to order a couple of curries as well with some fragrant steamed rice plus their Mango Salad.

Thai Tantric
Korat Thai
Named after the city of Nakhon Rachasima in the North Eastern province of Eesan, you can expect typical Eesan dishes such as Laab Gai, (a gorgeous minced chicken dish with fresh mint, coriander, lime, garlic and onions) with a side of sticky rice. In case you didn’t know, Eesan is famous for having the spiciest food in Thailand so please don’t go unless you have a high tolerance to the stuff. Otherwise you may find yourself making good friends with the toilet the day after.

Jane Thai Food
Perhaps one of the best known of the Thai food haunts in Orchard Towers. Though personally I think it’s a little over-rated (or just not as good as it used to be). Still decent Thai food mind, just not as good as the others.
