The Best 5 Credit Cards for Foodies in Singapore 2015

Signs outside restaurants promoting some kind of credit card deal are becoming ubiquitous. 10% off here, 20% off there. Complimentary dessert here. Return gift voucher of $20 there. Let’s face it, it can get a bit overwhelming.

In all likelihood, you’ll end up getting several cards so you never miss the deal. HOWEVER, that’s really not necessary. After dining our way around town, and with more than a little research, we’ve come up with a list of the top 5 credit cards for dining in Singapore.

5. CITIBANK – Dividend Card

Coming in at #5 is CITIBank’s Dividend Card.

Having linked up with Marina Bay Sands, having a CITI card gets you 10% off at the likes of CUT by Wolfgang Puck, DB Bistro, and Osteria Mozza! You can also enjoy discounts and offers at other restaurants like SKIRT at W Singapore, Shin Kushiya, KURO, and several others.

For a full list of participating venues, check out Gourmet Pleasures. To find out more about the CITIBank Dividend card, visit CITIBANK.

4. Standard Chartered – Platinum

The Standard Chartered dining benefits come under its umbrella scheme, ‘The Good Life’. Encompassing lifestyle and dining venues around Singapore, StanChart’s credit card can come in quite useful. While the majority of the offers on the dining front are at chains and franchises, there are a few good spots – like Kiku and Amarone – on board as well. If hotel dining is your thing, you’ll be pleased to see Amara Sanctuary Sentosa and the Raffles Hotel’s dining spots taking part. Not too shabby.

On top of all this, the card, being American Express, gets you access to the American Express Selects offers; restaurants at the Shangri-La, Meritus Mandarin and Fairmont Singapore Hotels take part. 1. The American Express Platinum Card

Taking the #1 spot is the American Express Platinum Card. ‘The’ dining card of Singapore it seems.

Foodies, have you heard of the Palate card? It’s the dining membership that gets you up to 50% of a-la-carte food at restaurants like D’Bell, Buyan, Il Lido, The Prime Society, and Praelum Wine Bistro. It usually costs close to $500 – but it’s complimentary with the AMEX Platinum.

Not good enough? You also get the Feed at Raffles (FAR) Card included complimentary with your American Express. That means up to 50% off at the Fairmont and Swissotel restuarants: Mikuni, Prego, and Equinox, just to name a few.

On top of all that, you’ll still be able to access of the American Express Selects deals (mentioned above) as well as offers under the Global Dining Program.

And barflies, if you’re still not convinced, American Express Platinum recently launched their Chillax promotion meaning that you get complimentary cocktails at some of Singapore’s top bars including The Spiffy Dapper, Ah Sam Cold Drinks Stall, The Horse’s Mouth, Maison Ikkoku, and more. DAAAYUM.
