The Merry Widow

Delight in a renowned romantic operetta this October (24th to 26th) as Singapore Lyric Opera presents a brand new production, The Merry Widow!

One of the Lehár’s most successful operetta, The Merry Widow is set to charm and delight audiences with some of the most loved arias such as Vilja Lied, You will Find Me in Maxim’s and the Merry Widow Waltz.

This operetta tells a hilarious tale of how all the countrymen enthusiastically help a widow find a ‘right’ husband in a bid to keep her inheritance from her late husband.

Directed by David Edwards, this production features a sensational ensemble of international and local opera singers such as British-Sri Lankan soprano Kishani Jayasinghe as Hanna Glawari, the merry widow, baritone John Bolton Wood as Baron Zeta, soprano Tiffany Speight as Valencienne, Nicholas Ransley as Count Danilo, Ashley Catling as Camille, and our local tenors Melvin Tan and Jeremy Koh. Rounding up the stellar cast are Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) graduates, soprano Su Yi Wen and tenor Raymond Lee.
