The Next Page

The Arts House turns 10 with a two-week-long celebration as we look forward to The Next Page! Come celebrate with us as we present an exciting line-up of shows, exhibitions, outdoor performances and writers’ talks, anchored by the immersive visual and performance installation show The Next Page.

In a tongue-in-cheek tribute to its 10th year milestone, The Arts House creates an alternative universe/history where a mega bookstore (The Next Page) has taken over the premises from its previous tenants – a dance club and a posh 5-star boutique hotel!

Conceptualised as an immersive visual and performance installation, The Next Page is the anchor show of our 10th celebrations. It invites visitors to view remnants of the dance hall and hotel, which have been ‘preserved’, while it also offers them the full retail experience of a Singapore bookstore (BooksActually pop-up store).

At night, site-specific performances by the most celebrated thespians of Singapore theatre will regale the audience with a mock historical tour of the site, as they present an alternative history without The Arts House, celebrating its significance and contributions to the arts scene via its ‘absence’.

The Next Page is conceived and directed by Artistic Director Chong Tze Chien of award-winning theatre company The Finger Players.
