The Weekly Grub: 5 Things to Eat & Drink in Singapore This Week

Autumn flavours are abound as restaurants all over Singapore gear up for the season. This week, taste the quality produce at Plentyfull, a revamped menu at Salt Tapas & Bar, a new dim sum lunch set at Mitzo, and more.

Produce-Focused Brunch Menu at Plentyfull

One of the newest dining entrants in the CBD, Plentyfull now serves up honest and hearty brunch during the weekends. Inspired by seasonal, fresh, and quality produce, everything is preservative-free, from the Fried Stack Potatoes ($6) and Grilled Housemade Duck Sausage Patty ($6) to the Onsen Eggs with House Ponzu ($5) and classic Carbonara with Parpadelle ($22). In fact, the produce is so fresh that even its grocer, Little Farms, is on site in a small retail section. Look out for the Plentyfull cart which carries a selection of fresh pastries and other mouth-watering goodies!

New Head Chef and Revamped Menu Salt Tapas & Bar

The iconic Salt Tapas & Bar at Raffles City recently introduced its new head chef, Aussie-born Jake Kowalewski, bringing along with him a new and refreshed tapas menu with influences from Europe and Asia. Putting an Australian twist to the modern tapas bar, expect both lunch and dinner plates like the Scallop Tartar ($19) – served with tobiko and ink crisps –, Spanish Style Lamb Kofta ($25), and signature Squid Ink Seafood Paella ($28). Don’t leave without getting some fluffy churros ($14) and accompanying orange marmalade dip.

White Truffle Delicacies at Raffles Grill

Raffles Grill’s Chef Mickael Le Calvez celebrates the luxurious season of Alba white truffles from Italy’s Piedmont region with an exclusive menu. The white truffles are known for their deep musky aroma and rich earthy flavours, integrated into modern French creations that include a delicate Sea Bream dressed with Champagne Sauce, a traditional Risotto with Artichoke and Scamorza, and Parsnip Velouté with Quail Sausage and Albufera Foam.

Dim Sum Set Lunch at Mitzo

There’s now more reason to pop by the progressive Cantonese restaurant Mitzo for lunch! Take a well-deserved break from work or shopping during weekday with a classy dim sum meal. Available as a three-course set at $28++ per person, or a four-course dim sum and noodle set at $38++, start your meal with a hearty Double-boiled Soup of the Day before partaking in a trio out of over 10 varieties of handcrafted dim sum. Think bite-size delicacies such as the Royal Shrimp Dumpling topped with black caviar, Cheese Escargot Puff, and crowd-favourite crispy Fried Duck Spring Roll.

Memory-Evoking Sensorium Menu at Tippling Club

Nothing stirs up cherished childhood memories like the scent of old things. Which is why Joe Schofield – the newest Head Bartender of Tippling Club – came up with the new Sensorium menu, a flavour-forward cocktail programme that places emphasis on scent. In collaboration with Chef-Owner Ryan Clift’s avant-garde culinary knowledge, be treated to a flight of the restaurant-bar’s most inventive selection and bar bites. The menu features 12 impressive cocktails, each inspired and built around a specific scent and memory, such as Campfire (burnt syrup, ash, and gin), Leather (smoky, luxurious, and sweet) and Caramel (pleasantly tart with citrus and rum). Best part is? They’re all going for only $22.
