In this week’s edition, we have a wonderful line-up of rich chocolate desserts, nutritious Cantonese soups, a creative four-hands dinner, Italian wine, and a value for money buffet to share.

Zafferano x Borgogno

Pan Seared Pigeon

Vino lovers, if you don’t have plans this Friday, 23 September 2016, consider heading down to Zafferano for their five-course dinner ($128++), paired with exquisite Italian wines from Borgogno, one of the oldest cellars in Barolo, Piedmont. Borgogno’s Export Manager, Giovanni Oliva, will be taking you through the evening. Highlights include the cellar’s prized Barolo Classico 2011 paired with pumpkin risotto with lamb ragout and the Barolo Riserva 1998 with pan seared pigeon with celery root puree and pearl onions. Dinner will commence at 7.30pm.

Prosperity Soup Feast at Yàn

Nothing shouts Cantonese cuisine more than a good double-boiled soup. From now till end October, Yàn at National Gallery will be serving up a whopping selection of 25 double-boiled soups ($13.80 each). Since the weather has been flip-flopping, you might like to try the Sea Whelk and Black Garlic for strengthening the immune system, the Chinese Cabbage with Yunnan Ham to nourish the lungs and boost energy, or the Hashima with Huangqi and Dangshen for a radiant glow. Pre-order any of the 25 at least one day in advance; alternatively, a minimum of five different soups will be on rotation each day.

Four Points by Sheraton Singapore: Oceania Seafood Buffet

Four Points Eatery – the all-day dining concept of Four Points by Sheraton Singapore – has launched its compact, yet scrumptious Oceania Seafood Buffet. Priced at $38.80++ for lunch, $49.80++ for dinner, and a value-for-money $52++ for Sunday Brunch (incudes free-flow prosecco), expect a smorgasbord of about 80 dishes including the sashimi counter, cold seafood, and hot dishes like Tandoori Lamb and Thai Grilled Pork. Freshly shucked oysters and ‘live’ herbal prawns and available exclusively at dinner. Pair your favourite dishes from the buffet with a pint of Tall Tale Pale Ale, The Best Brew’s (Four Points’ bar) bespoke beer brewed by Archipelago.

The Lokal Goes Bincho

Braised Pork Cheek with Kale Apple Salad

Chef Darren Farr of The Lokal and Bincho’s Chef Asai Masashi are combining their shared love of homemade ingredients and fresh produce in a collaborative dinner at Bincho on Monday, 26 September 2016 (from 7.30pm onwards). Priced at $88++, the 7-course culinary journey includes Smoked Seafood & Pumpkin Salad with Papa’s Grove Olive Oil, Braised Pork Cheek with Kale Apple Salad, and Lokal Buttermilk Panna Cotta with Kaya & Biscotti. Sake pairing is also available at $40++ for 4x45ml pours or $65++

Antoinette Launches Fetish Chocolat

Trufflette

Chocoholics, this one’s for you. From now till the end of October, a delightful selection of 23 items crafted from premium white and dark Valrhona chocolate awaits at Antoinette. Asides from the usual use of chocolate in sweets like cakes, macarons, plated desserts, and other confectionaries like the Trufflette ($15), Chef Pang Kok Keong is also using chocolate in four savoury dishes like the Chocolate Ravioli ($22) with wild mushroom ragout in a light sausage cream sauce.
