1-Group’s Wine Lust Journeys: 6 Things to Do

If you think wine is snobby and inaccessible, this extravaganza might just change your mind. The 1-Group is organising its first ever wining and dining festival, Wine Lust Journeys, which will see a programme of wine adventures at four dining venues. This Sunday (27 Aug) at Botanico at The Garage, immerse in a 3-hour tasting session of a stunning selection of 69 wine labels for just $35 nett (top up for a 4-course brunch or another wine, water, and food masterclass by San Pellegrino and Culina). Over at Monti at The Fullerton Pavilion (Mon, 28 Aug), enjoy an elegant Italian 5-course wine pairing dinner featuring wines from Piedmont and Veneto at $148++. Again later in the week (Thu, 31 Aug), make your way up to Stellar at 1-Altitude to celebrate International Cabernet Day with six tasty blends from six winemakers ($50 nett) at a standing cocktail party, complete with lots of cheese.

Simmered Sea Eel with Sweet Soy Sauce

Travel to Nagasaki Prefecture with Kanda Wadatsumi‘s latest seasonal menu, as delectable seafood from Japan’s longest coastline is presented by executive chef Hara Shinji in an eight-course omakase ($120++) and several featured dishes. Relish the fresh flavours of the Anago (sea eel) and succulent Madako (octopus), and even compliment your meal with sakes such as the Saito Honjyozo ($22 per 180ml/$80 per 720ml).

Superlife Co. x Inter Rice Asia: Sake Pairing with Quinoa

Bored of the usual sake pairings with traditional Japanese cuisine? Expand your horizons with this unlikely duo of sake and quinoa in a masterclass and dinner this Saturday. Learn Asian-inspired quinoa dishes from quinoa specialists Superlife Co. and enjoy tapas after, paired with sake imported from Japan’s Senkin brewery.

The Chicken Teriyaki Quinoa Croquettes come with the Senkin Modern Muku (White Label), while the Pork Kimchi Quinoa-stuffed Mushrooms topped with Mozzarella will be paired with the Senkin Modern Omachi (Blue Label), among others.
