The Weekly Grub: 5 Things to Eat & Drink this Week

Hello, springtime! From a recently launched breakfast delivery service catering to the CBD folks to Earl Grey Mille Crêpes at Lady M, here are five things to try in the first week of March.

Meta Welcomes Spring with New Tasting Menu

Known for its French-arranged, Asian-inspired, modern European cuisine, Meta has launched a brand new menu that reflects the cool and soothing nature of spring in Korea. Chef Sun Kim, who honed his culinary chops in kitchens like Tetsuya’s in Sydney, will be presenting dishes such as Sea Urchin on bibimbap and kimchi,  and Rack of Lamb with doen jang (soy paste). Lunch starts at $38++ for three courses and dinner at $118++ for six courses.

Meta is located at 9 Keong Saik Road, Singapore 089117, p. 6513 0898. Open Mon-Sat 5.30pm-12am. Closed on Sun.

Deliveroo Launches Breakfast Delivery

Fresh from launching in Singapore last November, London-based delivery service Deliveroo has already expanded its services to breakfast! Those who work in Singapore’s CBD can get a head start at work with food from the likes of Da Paolo Gastronomia, The Latin Quarters and Dapper Coffee at their offices. Orders can be made through Deliveroo’s website or mobile phone app.

The minimum order for Deliveroo’s breakfast service is $18 and runs from 8am to 11am. No additional delivery charge required.

Foie Gras at iL Cielo

Hilton Singapore’s classy Italian restaurant will be serving a seasonal à la carte foie gras menu for the entire month of March. Featuring dishes like Home-made Foie Gras Ravioli topped with Veal Jus, Raisins and Black Truffle by il Cielo’s Chef Catarsi, the restaurant will also be putting together an exclusive four-course dinner on the 25th of March.

The seasonal à la carte foie gras menu ($32++ to $50++) is available till Thursday, 31 March 2016. Priced at $135++ per person (inclusive of wine pairing), the Signature Foie Gras Wine Dinner is happening on Friday, 25 March 2016, 7pm to 10.30pm.

Craft Fest Singapore

Craft Fest Singapore will be making history as the lion city’s first festival solely dedicated to craft beers and ciders. Held alongside iLight Marina Bay 2016 (a creative festival with art installations), this boozy carnival will feature hundreds of imported beers from across the globe, while festival-goers can help themselves to mouth-watering munchies from  The Butchers Burger Club and Vatos Urban Tacos.

Craft Fest Singapore is happening from Friday, 4 March to Sunday, 6 March 2016. To check ticket prices and event schedules, please click here

Earl Grey Mille Crêpes at Lady M

It seems as if Lady M has yet another gem on its hands. The popular confectionary franchise is introducing an Earl Grey Mille Crêpe Cake as their new signature pastry for the months of March and April. This pastry creation is made by extracting the fragrance of tea and blending it with French pastry cream, which is then layered between 20 slices of thin crêpe. Topped with tea glaze, earl grey sprinkles, and edible blue cornflowers, this is one tea-time treat to perk up your week.

Priced at $9++ per slice and $85 for the whole cake, see here for Lady M’s various outlets. Online orders must be made 3 days in advance.
