Top 5 things to do in Singapore this week: 16th – 22nd June 2014

In our pick of Nomad-worthy events happening this week, we’re super excited to catch some bad ass B-Boy action in the form of Red Bull BC One Singapore Cypher, take in some inspirational theatre with Women of Asia, party like there’s no tomorrow at Full Steam Ahead and enjoy a spot of market mooching at the 9MCM Pop Up Marketplace. And the perfect ending to it all? A good old Sunday session courtesy of Kickback Sunday. Want to know more? Check out our pick of top things to do this week right here:

1. Get down with the B-Boys at Red Bull BC One Singapore Cypher 2014

Some bad ass B-Boy and B-Girl action awaits as the hipster haven of Wheeler’s Yard is transformed into a battleground for one of the most important one-on-one B-Boy competitions in the world, which will be going down in Singapore. With a dramatic setting, some seriously hot B-Boy action, and sick beats from master turntablist DJ KoFlow, it’s time to represent!

Red Bull BC One Singapore Cypher 2014 is taking place on 18th – 20th June at Wheelers Yard, 28 Lorong Ampas, Singapore, 328781. For more information see the event webpage here.

2. Make a date with the Women of Asia

Having already wowed audiences in New York, Melbourne and Bangkok leaving a flurry of rave reviews behind it, this is now our turn to catch this masterpiece conveying 7 provocative and true tales that illuminate issues faced by women today fuelled by sex, abuse, identity and power through a mix of dance, comedy and tragedy.

Women of Asia is being staged from 19th – 21st and 26th – 28th June at LASALLE College of the Arts, 1 McNally St. Singapore, 187940. For more information and ticketing please see the TicketMash website here.

3. Party under the stars at Full Steam Ahead

Our favourite all night beach party is back for its summer edition at Tanjong Beach Club. With an awesome line-up of local DJs, percussion beats, fire twirlers, dancers, plenty of booze and a Mexican food tent, we say it’s time to cut loose!

Full Steam Ahead is taking on 21st June at Tanjong Beach Club, 120 Tanjong Beach Walk, Sentosa, Singapore, 098942. For more information see the Facebook event page here.

4. Mooch away at 9MCM Pop Up Marketplace

This weekend, the two-level gallery at APS Lifestyle will be transformed into a marketplace offering everything from gourmet food, beers, wines, local produces, home wares and affordable arts. If you prefer your markets more boutique than sprawling, this could be the perfect spot to pick up one-of-a-kind flea market finds.

9MCM: The Pop-Up Marketplace is taking place on 21st June at APS Lifestyle Gallery Level 1 & 2, 9 Muthuraman Chetty Road, Singapore, 238931. For more information and updates see their Facebook event page here.

5. Chill out and tune out at Kickback Sunday

Kickback Sunday at Nosh returns for another round of quality beats, eats and treats. An all-day to night affair with urban sounds, cool summer cocktails and BBQ eats to kick back with and plenty of entertainment in the form of foosball, beer pong, darts and table games, grab your buddies and go hang!

Kickback Sunday is taking place on 22nd June at Nosh, 9 Rochester Park, Singapore, 139220. For more information see here
