Top 5 things to do in Singapore this week

As the Year of the Horse comes galloping towards us, so do the coming week’s events! From spoken word, to champion comedy, a boozy cruise, a laid back all day brunch, plus a big ol’ dance party, this week has it all.

1. Be moved by the power of spoken word at Speak featuring the Slam Champions

If you’re a newbie to the incredible art that is spoken word performance, start your week with a little bit of spine-tingling performance art at SPEAK. Expect to be moved, expect to laugh and expect the unexpected at this regular monthly night.

SPEAK takes place on Wednesday 22nd January at 8pm – 11pm at Home Club 20 Upper Circular Road, The Riverwalk B1-01/06, Singapore 058416. For more information including line up see here.

2. Catch some killer comedy at THE WHOLLY FATHER, Phil Kay

The UK’s madcap, multi award-winning king of stand-up comedy is performing in Singapore for three days only. Get ready for a hilarious night as Phil Kay unleashes his childlike take on the world fused with insatiable energy where nobody (including him!) knows what’s going to happen next! City Nomads have free tickets to see Phil Kay – to be in with a chance to win head over to our Giveaways page here.

THE WHOLLY FATHER, PHIL Kay takes place on Thursday 23rd – Saturday 25th January at Penny Black and Lime House. For more information including venues and times see here.

3. Party the night away at BOOM! – THE INAUGURAL DANCE PARTY

THE party to get naughty on a school night, as night falls the Red Dot Design Museum will be transformed into one big bad ass dance party featuring global DJs spinning progressive house and eclectic sounds. Hop on at Singapore before the party heads to KL and Taipei!

BOOM! – THE INAUGURAL DANCE PARTY takes place on Thursday 23rd January from 10pm til late at Red Dot Design Museum. For more information and ticketing see here.

4. Sail away on a Sparkling White Sunset Cruise

Not getting away for the forthcoming long weekend? Then why not hop on a yacht powered up on Champagne and Prosecco for a night of revelry away from the bustle of the city as it anchors up in a secluded bay for a BBQ, swimming and general good times!

Sparkling White Sunset Cruise takes place on Saturday 25th January, 6pm – 11pm departing from Sentosa Cove. For more information see here.

5. Lazy Sundays at The Green Door

Brunch fans take note of this new laid back monthly session and the first of many. This favourite Dempsey garden bar provides the perfect spot to munch on yummies and kick back in the sun with you and your crew all the way through the day and well after the stars come out to play.

Lazy Sundays at The Green Door takes place on Sunday 26th January at The Green Door, 1.30pm – 10.30pm. For more information see here
