1. Get your culture on with National Theatre Live: The Audience
After its world premiere in March 2013, don’t miss the screening of The Audience right here in Singapore in HD at Esplanade. Helen Mirren reprises her Academy Award winning role as Queen Elizabeth II in this highly-anticipated West End production, as part of National Theatre Live.
National Theatre Live: The Audience is taking place on 29th June – 3rd August at Esplanade, 1 Esplanade Dr, Singapore, 038981. For more information and ticketing see SISTIC here.
2. Get a dose of the funnies with Whose Line Is It Anyway
The original stars of the legendary hit British TV show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” return to Singapore for the second year after last year’s roaring sell-out success. Hugely talented comedians Andy Smart, Stephen Frost, Steven Steen and Ian Coppinger, will turn anything you can think of into a fresh batch of sidesplitting sketches.
Whose Line is It Anyway is taking place on 2nd July – 5th July at DBS Arts Centre, 20 Merbau Road, Robertson Walk, Singapore, 239035. For more information and ticketing see SISTIC here.
3. Open your mind with AKKA – The End
Catch the re-staging of Avant Theatre’s 1991 smash hit, ‘AKKA’, and its much awaited sequel, ‘AKKA – The End’ as a double bill production which re-evaluates our society’s understanding of the third (transgender) sexuality and the phobias and prejudices it harbours on those who both captivate, and repulse its social fabric.
AKKA – The End, is taking place on 3rd – 5th July at SOTA Drama Theatre, 1 Zubir Said Drive, Singapore, 227968. For more information and ticketing see the Peatix website here.
4. Cat lovers rejoice! at the Saturday Purrzaar & Exhibition
We just couldn’t resist this one! A chance to chope and buy cat-themed art pieces by local artists at $100 each and also snap up cute cat-themed merchandise and all for a fluffy cause – the Cat Welfare Society. Meow!
The 2014 Saturday Purrzaar & Exhibition is taking place on 5th July 14 at The Arts House, 1 Old Parliament Lane, Singapore, 179429. For more information see here.
5. Party it up at Endless Summer: Heatwave
Get stuck into a hedonistic experience of music, design and fashion at Singapore’s coolest pool party – Heatwave – which promises to rock your Sunday afternoon with amazing beats as you sip on champagne, groove to the tunes by T.A.T, from DJ Lab and treat your eyes to live graffiti by Nychos.
Endless Summer is taking place on 6th July at W Singapore – Sentosa Cove, 21 Ocean Way, Singapore, 098374. For more information see here.
