Top 5 things to do in Singapore this week: 3rd – 9th February

With all that eating over Chinese New Year, it might be time for something different this week! How about watching some theatre in a warehouse, or discovering awesome creative wares in not one but three markets? Or how about shaking off some of those extra pounds to a very cool Tokyo-based DJ who will be doing his thing here for one night only? Oh and if you really must keep eating, there’s a BBQ that will check that box for those who haven’t quite had their fill. Check out our round up of this week’s top events here:

1. Take an off the beaten path adventure with The Henderson Project

We’re big fans of theatre in alternative spaces, so couldn’t be happier to hear about Dream Academy’s Henderson Project which will be transforming their warehouse home into a stage for two runs of unusual and intimate performances with their take on The Last Five Years, a powerful love story and the heart-warming story of Happy Robin. Tickets are very limited so we recommend getting in there early!

The Henderson Project takes place from 6th February 2013 at 203A Henderson Road, #02-01 Singapore 159547. For more information on show dates and times, and ticketing information please see here.

2. Yet more unorthadox theatre with The Woman in Black in a Gothic-style building!

You know the saying, it never rains but it pours! Not one, but two alternative-style theatre experiences kicking off this week, the second of which is The Woman in Black being staged at Sculpture Square. This is renowned for being one of the scariest plays of all time, but this one is bound to be way scarier given the fact that it’s interactive. Eeeeeeeeek!

The Woman in Black is happening at Sculpture Square from Friday 7th February – Sunday 9th February at Sculpture Square, 55 Middle Road Singapore, 188977. For more information on performance times and ticketing information see here.

4. Slink around to the sexy sounds of Das Moth

Catch Tokyo-based DJ and Producer Das Moth at CBD hang out The Black Swan’s Powder Room for some atmospheric, erotic and creamy post-disco beats. We’ve been listening to his remixes on Sound Cloud here and we can promise you this will be a night of seriously sexy sounds to slink around to on a Saturday night.

Expect a meat feast with ribs, sausages, steaks, lamb, chicken all raring to go on the BBQ and be guzzled up by you!
