Truffle Gourmet celebrates famed Piedmont region with First-Ever San Maurizio Festival

Did you know that Tajarin is the Piedmontese dialect for tagliatelle? An egg pasta that’s ubiquitous in Piedmont, Italy, as the name suggests.

In celebration of Italy’s famed Piedmont region, Truffle Gourmet is launching the San Maurizio Festival at its restaurant from now till 31 August. Casting the spotlight on black summer truffles and famous reds like the Barolo and Babaresco from the Langhe locale in Piedmont, the first-ever festival is a tribute to its parent company, Relais San Maurizio—a five-star luxury hotel.

For the San Maurizio Festival, Executive Chef Takashi Okuno and Chef de Cuisine Felix Chong of Truffle Gourmet have put together a list of exclusive dishes including the Tajarin Pasta with Summer Truffle, Red Prawn and Lemon Zest; and Braised Wagyu Short Ribs Piedmont-style served with Truffle-based Polenta to offer guests a taste of Piedmont classics. For two nights only—22 July and 7 August— gourmands are invited to make reservations for a special wine dinner featuring similar Piedmont classics paired with highly-regarded San Maurizio wines.
