Velvet Underground – Dance and Moonbeats Asia proudly present to you The Deep End, a new night featuring only the best beats and tunes to make you swoon. Curating an eclectic mix of regional and international producers and DJs, The Deep End will be the one place to blast into space, one time where the paradigm of life is to feel alive. Lush 99.5fm will also be on board as the Official Media. For the debut edition, we have Daedelus playing live with support from Jase.
Like his mythological namesake, Daedelus – otherwise known as Alfred Darlington – is an inventor, a creator of sonic labyrinths combining sounds from an eclectic palette into an innovative genre of his own. Despite the fact that he was formally trained on double bass and bass clarinet, had studied jazz at USC, and could play additional instruments such as the guitar and accordion, Daedelus chose to go the electronica route, often incorporating samples from the ’30s and ’40s into his iDM and left-field hip-hop.
Jase started his music promotion crew The Beats Saigon in late 2006, and had brought over numerous DJs and Bands to Saigon, from DJ Premiere, to TOKiMONSTA, Onra and many more. As a DJ, Jase has an eclectic style that ranges from all genres and tempo, mixing hard hitting bassy sound and melody driving tracks. His sound has allowed him to perform in many cities and festival around the world and most recently at Techno Parade in Paris, in front of a 300,000+ crowd.
The event will take place on 13 June from 11pm at the Velvet Underground.
Dance admission on 13 June for non-members (incl 2 drinks) is $28 for ladies and $33 for gents.
