Wat Saket (Temple of the Golden Mount)

Known to many as the Golden Mount or ‘Phu Khao Thong’, Wat Saket is a gold stupa on a low man-made hill. Once the capital’s crematorium in the 18th century, this golden temple used to serve as a dumping ground for the dead. Also the obstacle of 300 steps makes for a good sweat!
